Tay-Bay is a sustainable swimwear line, ethically made from eco-friendly materials on the tropical island of Mauritius, off the east coast of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean.

Our products make use of high quality, sustainable fabric made from regenerated nylon taken from waste products collected out of the ocean.  By supporting us you are supporting the small local businesses and manufacturers  making of our products.

About Taylor-Jane

Having grown up in remote destinations across Southern Africa, from a young age Taylor was instilled with a care for the environment and respect for Mother Earth.

Her family witnessed first-hand the devastating impact of human encroachment on wildlife and the wild spaces of Southern Africa. As a child, her family rescued three orphaned elephants (Duma, Tusker and Ishe) whose mothers were brutally killed, raised two lion cubs and an injured leopard (Chewy) as a result of poaching.

From early on, this left an impression of the pain and hardship that wildlife endures at the hands of man. After relocating to Mauritius in 2020 and seeing the impact of human life on the oceans, Taylor became concerned for the local marine life.

‘Ghost nets’ are discarded and abandoned fishing nets at the bottom of the ocean that continue to catch fish and other marine animals without human involvement. Sharks, dolphins, seals and turtles suffer and die as a result of their entanglement in these nets. This is a global concern.

Founding Tay-Bay Swim

When founding her business, care for the natural environment was at the forefront of Taylor’s vision and helping to solve the problem of discarded fishing nets. Her swimline that developed from this ethos now helps turn human waste into a fashion solution.

Through a gratifying project creating up-cycled ethically sustainable swimwear from tons of abandoned fishing nets at the bottom of the ocean. A small part to play in a much bigger picture – but each small act makes a difference and this was a start.

Not only are Tay-Bay bikinis completely sustainable and produced from recycled fishing nets but the material is super silky-soft, rich in colour and wearable!

You can spend all day in these bikinis with the utmost comfort. We hope that every single woman wearing the Tay-Bay range feels strong, confident & absolutely drop-dead gorgeous regardless of size.

Plastic-Free July

Join millions of people reducing their plastic waste.

Plastic Free July is a global movement that encourages millions of people to be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.

This month we celebrate that our sustainable swimsuits come packaged in 100% biodegradable bags. These can be thrown in the compost and will break down naturally without harmful chemicals to the soil  in under 6 months.

We have chosen to go completely plastic-free and are now delivering in 100% biodegradeable packaging. Making a small change like this collectively can make a massive difference to our communities and planet.

We encourage you to choose to refuse single-use plastics in July and beyond!
